Vinted Seller Fee Calculator
Vinted works differently from almost every other resale platform: the seller pays no selling fee at all, and the buyer pays a protection fee on top of the price instead.
That makes Vinted attractive on paper, but it also means the buyer sees a higher total than your asking price. This calculator shows what you keep, and the comparison tool shows how Vinted stacks up against the platforms that do charge commission.

How Vinted fees work
Vinted fee policies differ across its European and US markets. Confirm the current policy in your region.
| Fee | Typical rate | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Selling fee | 0% | Vinted does not charge sellers a commission. |
| Buyer protection fee | paid by the buyer | Added to the buyer total, so it affects conversion rather than your payout. |
| Shipping | chosen by the buyer | Paid by the buyer in most cases. |
Worked example
A typical order priced at $22.00 costs you $5.00 in product and $3.50 to ship and pack.
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Buyer pays | $22.00 |
| Total platform fees | -$0.00 |
| Product, shipping and other costs | -$8.50 |
| Net profit | $13.50 (61.36% margin) |
| Break-even price | $8.50 |
What sellers get wrong on Vinted
- Pricing against the headline fee only. The commission is rarely the whole cost: fixed fees, payment processing and advertising add several points on top.
- Forgetting what shipping really costs. If you charge the buyer less than the label and packaging actually cost, every sale quietly loses money.
- Ignoring returns. A 3% return rate on a 20% margin product removes a sixth of your profit. Put it in the reserve field.
- Never checking the break-even price. Knowing the lowest price you can accept on an offer is the difference between a negotiation and a loss.
Vinted fee calculator FAQ
Does Vinted take a fee from sellers?
No. Vinted charges the buyer a protection fee instead of charging the seller a commission, which is why Vinted payouts look higher than Depop or Poshmark for the same price.
So is Vinted always more profitable?
Not automatically. Lower prices on Vinted mean you may not achieve the same sale price as on a platform with a more affluent audience. Compare the net profit, not just the fee.
Can I make money on Vinted?
Yes, especially on low-cost inventory, because there is no commission to absorb and shipping is normally paid by the buyer.
